Welcome to St Mary’s Manly!
As a member of system of schools known as Catholic Schools Broken Bay we seek to inspire hearts and minds to know Christ, to love learning, to use their talents to be the very best they can be.
Our principal, teachers, staff and parents all work together with the wider community to deliver authentic, professional Catholic education with care and compassion.
Our teachers are committed to the mission of Catholic education and apply evidence-based practice to support students to learn and to gain the confidence and skills to enable them to be involved in shaping their society.
DO YOU NEED TO BE CATHOLIC TO ATTEND A CATHOLIC SCHOOL?
No, your child does not need to be Catholic to enrol at a Catholic school. While preference is given to students of the Catholic faith, particularly if you are active in your parish, our schools welcome families from all backgrounds or faith traditions who share in our mission and purpose.
Catholic Schools Broken Bay will offer K-12 enrolment during 2021. This will provide you with some surety around enrolment in our systemic secondary colleges for your child. As the option becomes available, you will only need to provide one enrolment form in primary school and complete a simple updated form to ensure your child’s continued enrolment in one of our systemic secondary colleges.
We welcome enrolment enquiries at any time. Please contact the school office on (02) 9977 2225 or email@example.com for more information or to request an enrolment package.
An enrolment form and parish priest reference form can be completed and lodged with the office at any time. In order to complete the enrolment process, the following items will also need to be provided:
- Birth Certificate
- Baptism Certificate
- Enrolment Fee
- Immunisation Certificate
Contact will be made by the school shortly after lodgement. For Kindergarten enrolments, children must be aged 5 prior to July 31 of that year, as per NSW Education Department guidelines.
The Diocese of Broken Bay Enrolment Policy is implemented by all systemic schools in the Diocese. The implementation of this policy is monitored by the Catholic Schools Office.
Copies of this policy and other policies in this report may be obtained from the Catholic Schools Office website or by contacting the Catholic Schools Office.
To arrange a school visit or meet with the School Principal, please feel free to contact us any time.
Interviews for prospective parents are generally held during May.
Parents have the opportunity to meet with both the Principal and the Parish Priest.
In addition, children are invited to participate in a 2 hour group workshop in the Kindy classrooms. The information gathered helps our staff to determine the school readiness of each child.
During the Orientation Program in October every year, the school runs ‘Taste of Big School’ to assist with transition into primary school. This program assists new students to settle into new surroundings and gain confidence in school routines before they officially start.
Teachers will lead a number of interesting activities that will help the children familiarise themselves with the school environment. Children will also meet their Year 5 and Year 6 ‘Buddies’.
While the orientation is taking place, parents are invited to attend an information session and morning tea so that they can meet other new parents.
