PDHPE

At St Mary’s, we aim for all students to actively engage in a wide variety of activities through our PDHPE programs.

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)

The Personal Development and Health component focuses on:

  • Growth & Development
  • Interpersonal Relationships
  • Personal Health Choices
  • Safe Living

St Mary’s is fortunate to have two specialist PE teachers who lead this essential and enjoyable part of the curriculum. With our close proximity to the beach and parklands, we are ideally placed to offer a diverse range of health and fitness opportunities.

Throughout the year, students participate in a wide variety of sports during their scheduled class lessons. Activities include skipping, gymnastics, cricket, netball, tennis, soccer, and more. In addition, students take part in annual school events such as swimming, athletics, and cross-country carnivals.

We also offer community gala day events such as Soccer, Tennis, Cricket, Eagle Tag, and Netball. In addition, all students from Years 4 to 6 participate annually in our Surf Education program, which promotes water safety and confidence in the ocean environment.

To further promote active play, students from Kindergarten to Year 6 may also enjoy recess and lunchtime sport sessions at the beach or Manly Oval, making the most of our beautiful local surroundings.
