Last Thursday, October 18th, Year Four went on their “Learning with the Land” excursion. This featured an educational walk to Fairlight Beach then Ivanhoe Park, led by Mrs Kissane and Mr Ella, Aboriginal Education Officer from the Catholic Schools Office. Year Four “Learning with the Land” Excursion
Last Thursday, October 18th, Year Four went on their “Learning with the Land” excursion. This featured an educational walk to Fairlight Beach then Ivanhoe Park, led by Mrs Kissane and Mr Ella, Aboriginal Education Officer from the Catholic Schools Office. Children learnt about indigenous culture and ways of living for local Aboriginal people of the past. Students came up with some excellent questions throughout the day. Children had the opportunity to sit on the rocks at Fairlight Beach and record ideas about what they could learn from the environment around them. At Ivanhoe Park, children explored and sketched ways that different elements of the environment cooperate together.
