We might be remote in 2021, but we are ready to celebrate the Fathers and Father figures in our lives! From dance moves to a dinner idea, a trivia night and a special Liturgy, we have so many ways to engage together this Father’s Day.
How to Make Sausage Rolls
Just in time for Father’s Day, the amazing Jacinta teaches us how to make delicious sausage rolls. They’re a Canteen favourite for a reason – yum!
RECIPE: MRS ADAIR’S HOMEMADE SAUSAGE ROLLS
. 1 Kilo sausage mince
. ½ Kilo Beef mince
. 1 small Brown onion
. 1 Tablespoon tomato paste
. Good squeeze BBQ Sauce
. 1 cup breadcrumbs
. 1 egg, lightly beaten
. 1 carrot, finally grated
. 1 Zucchini, finally grated
. Puffy pastry (Template for sizing is below)
Pre heat oven on 220 degrees
Combine all ingredients above together into a large mixing bowl.
Mix ingredients well together in bowl and knead so it looks like dough.
Using template, cut puff pastry.
Place the mixture along the edge marked on template, when the pastry is soft enough roll it closed.
Leave sausage rolls full length or cut into smaller size, then place on tray with baking paper.
Spray the sausage rolls with olive oil spray or brush the roll with a lightly beaten egg.
Place in oven for ½ an hr then keep checking until they are golden brown and puff pastry is cooked all over and the mixture is cooked through.
